NewsESCRIPSafeway is requiring all supporters to re-register their Safeway Club Cards with the Escrip program by 8/1/09. Please go to www.escrip.com, and follow their instructions. All you need is your telephone number and the card number that is already registered with Escrip. Please make sure you re-register, or your contributions will not be accepted. Just remember, these contributions DO NOT count towards your Scrip total, but are a great bonus for the school. You can continue making scrip purchases throughout the summer when the school office is open. We will continue to keep most of the merchants' gift cards in stock, especially Safeway, Fred Meyer, and Albertsons. Thank you for your continued participation in this program. Have a wonderful and relaxing summer vacation! Susan Foster Yearbooks Now on SaleBe sure to purchase your yearbook in the office for $20. Write checks to St. Francis School. They will be delivered in the fall. St. Francis Parish NewsThere will be a meeting for all persons interested in helping plan fundraising/community building activities here at St. Francis. Come to the meeting on Wednesday, June 10, with ideas and willingness to help make these events successful. Father's Day Spiritual Bouquet cards for living and deceased fathers will be handed out after masses on June 6 & 7 and June 13 & 14. Father's will be remembered in masses on Father's Day, June 21. Sun SafetyHere comes the sun! We are all "tickled pink" to see warmer, sunny days ahead, but that also means a renewal of commitment to protecting our kids from the potential harm from the sun's rays. To avoid getting "burned pink", our children need our help remembering to wear hats, sunglasses and sunscreen. Most of our classes have sunscreen available and more donations are needed and welcomed. The safest sunscreens for children are those containing physical blockers (titanium dioxide and micronized zinc oxide) with a SPF 30 or above. Wide brimmed hats and sunglasses will protect the skin and eyes as well. Skin cancer and cataracts from too much sun exposure is not a joke and some countries (New Zealand and Australia) have made it illegal for kids to go out to recess without wearing hats.
