Parents for Saint Francis (PSF)

It’s like extra-credit for grownups.

The mission of Parents for St. Francis (PSF) is to enhance the educational, spiritual, recreational and social experience of the school’s children, staff and parents. We gather the monthly to share ideas, brainstorm solutions and spearhead fundraising events. SCRIP dollars help fund our support for school fieldtrips, development opportunities and extracurricular activities. If your child is at the school, you’re already a “parent for St. Francis.” This is your chance to make it official.

Meeting dates

PSF generally meets the second Thursday of the month at 8:15 in the Daycare Room. Parents are welcome to bring their younger children.

Please watch the Newsnotes for schedule changes, meeting minutes and volunteer opportunities. Meeting minutes are also posted on the PSF bulletin board in the school hall.

Did you know that one school kid’s lunch can generate 67 pounds of waste a year? Together, we can help reduce kids’ lunch waste. Here are some tips:

• Buy in bulk rather than packing single serving items. This also saves money!
• Pack lunch items in reusable containers. These can be inexpensive containers, like reused yogurt or sour cream containers. Or see this article from Family Fun about how to make reusable containers from items around the house with your kids.
• Pack your reusable containers in a reusable lunch bag. One parent found these lunch sacks online along with a simple pattern.
