School Lunch Program

How The Program Works

St. Francis School pre-orders hot lunches from the Bend-LaPine School District. The school is charged for every lunch we order, even if a lunch is not consumed. For example, if a student pre-orders a lunch, and the next day brings a cold lunch or is absent, the school is charged for that hot lunch. On the flip side, if a student is late to school, or otherwise misses the morning pre-order, there will be no hot lunch for them the following day.

Lunch Costs

• Lunches are preordered and prepaid
• Hot lunch is $2.25 (includes milk)
• Middle school entrees are $2.50 (includes milk)
• Milk is 50 cents
• Some students are eligible for free or reduced hot lunch, information is available in the office

Menus

• Menus are sent home the first of the month with Newsnotes.
• Menus are also available on the Bend-La Pine School District website.

Middle School Lunch Items

In addition to the regular daily items, middle school students can preorder the following new entrées for $2.50:

• Fresh Caesar Salad
• Yogurt Parfait with blueberries, strawberries & homemade granola
• Deli Sandwich on a homemade hoagie roll
• Individual Pan Pizzas on whole wheat crust

School Lunch Tips

• If your child is absent, late or forgets to order, please send a cold lunch from home the next day.
• Children who forget a lunch will be provided with a PBJ sandwich, fruit, and milk. This is not meant to replace your child's regular lunch. Since the school does not charge for this, we need to keep these "emergency" lunches to a minimum.
• Condiments and salads are for pre-ordered hot lunches only, not for students who bring cold lunches.
• Microwaves and hot water are for Grade 4 through Grade 8 only. Please try to send food items that require two minutes or less of heating time.
