Week of September 16 - 20

Good afternoon, Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic School Parents. This week I relearned how to play capture the flag and had an opportunity to play the game with the fourth graders during lunch. We had a great time. 

Today, I received an email from a High School Student that is willing to coach our Lego robotics team. All we need is a parent to be there to assist him and be the adult responsible for the team. I believe he pretty much runs the club, the parent is there to assist with supervision.

On September 30th we will have a free dress day. Just a friendly reminder, please check the dress code, and always dress for success.

New This Week

• Friday, September 20th, is our first half day. Hot lunch will not be provided on this day.

• Please submit photos of any veterans in your family to be displayed at an event during school on November 12th. Email photos to [email protected]. More information to follow. 

• Mark your calendars October 25th - Family Game Night. Parish families will be invited to join us for this activity. Dinner provided for by the Knights of Columbus. $8 per person or $20 per family.

• Chess club will begin after school on September 30 and end at 4:00 pm. Megan Smolich is supervising this activity and will escort the students to the gym doors at the end of the club.

• Starting October 1, 2024 we will be accepting coats, socks, underwear, hygiene items, or other clothing to be donated to the Bethlehem Inn. They informed me that they are in desperate need of mens clothing items, and general hygiene items.

Athletics

• Middle School cross country’s first meet is on September 19th 4:00 pm at Sisters High School

• Middle School Volleyball - practice starts on Monday, September 16, 2024. 

Volunteer Opportunities

• We need a parent volunteer to head up the Lego Robotics Club afterschool. Please let me know if you are interested.

• If any one is interested in helping coach a 6th grade volleyball team, please email me as soon as possible.

• We can use some parent volunteers in the school office for a couple of projects if you are interested please email [email protected].

Fundraising

• Annual Golf Tournament at Lost Tracks. The cost is $250 for a single player, $1000 per team, and $1500 for corporate foursome. See attached flyer for details. Volunteers are needed to make this event a success.

• Willamette Valley Pies are being sold for the 7/8th grade trip to Washington DC deadline for orders is October 14. If you would like to order contact Mr. Lee. See attached Flyer.
